Light Installation
A visual installation at the Barbican for Actress × London Contemporary Orchestra’s collaborative new album Lageos (Ninja Tune). We looked to physicalise their otherworldly electronic and acoustic soundscape, evoking atmospheres of electric skies and kinetic clouds.
By creating a minimal sculpture of haze and light, the performers were saturated in colour reminiscent of Hubble images of nebulas and deep space. Slowly orbiting gradients of light played with the idea of planets in motion, whilst flickering light evoked glitchy satellite signals and white noise.
